Terms and Conditions

BMG incorporates a number of provisions concerning copyright and licensing. There is a general copyright notice, asserting that the website operator and its licensors own the rights in the website, as well as a licence setting out what a user is permitted to do (eg looking at pages in a web browser) and what a user is prohibited from doing (eg redistributing website content).

An acceptable use policy is also included. This prohibits activities which, whilst not necessarily infringing any intellectual property rights, are unlawful, illegal or undesirable. For instance, use of the website to perpetrate a fraud is prohibited as part of this policy.

Basic provisions covering user-generated content are included.

To provide some protection in the case of a legal claim against the website operator, a set of liability disclaimers is included. These are designed to be enforceable under English law, but it is not possible to guarantee the enforceability of any given disclaimer, at least without full knowledge of the context in which it is being used.
